Murder in the dark is a truly fun night time game. A great game for parties, camp and youth groups. This is the simplified version and after that is another version that is also lots of fun.

GAME 1

WHAT YOU NEED:

A blindfold

HOW TO PLAY:

Turn all the lights in the room and its surroundings off. Choose a "Murderer" and blindfold them. The other players now must move around the darkened room and attempt not to get caught by the "Murderer". The murderer on the other hand must try find as many players in a period of 10 minutes. The person who finds the most people wins.

(TIP: make sure there are no sharp or harmful objects in the room as this can lead to an injury). Enjoy the game.

GAME 2

WHAT YOU NEED

Slips of paper (one for each player)

Write "murderer" on one slip, on another write "detective", and on all of the rest write "suspect".
Place the slips in a bowl and let people take one slip each.
Do not reveal to anyone what you are.


HOW TO PLAY

Someone counts to three and turns off the lights. The game begins.

The murderer finds people and taps them on the shoulder. If you are tapped on the shoulder and are a suspect, simply fall to the ground, making a few dying noises.

If you are tapped and you are the detective, you say "detective is dead". When the detective is killed, the lights go on. All dead suspects must pretend to be dead, and even the murderer himself can play dead.

The detective then surveys the "bodies" and decides who they think is the murderer. If they guess wrong, the murderer wins, but if they guess right, the detective wins.

To make it easier for younger detectives, people can call out "Murderer, murderer" when they are killed.
