I've created two handy free printable picnic planning check lists, that you can find below, to make sure you have everything you need on hand for the perfect picnic. Whether you are in need of more stylish picnic essentials for a date or birthday with some food ideas or just planning a basic picnic for friends or family fun, I've got you.

You will also find other great picnic ideas and affordable accessories here.  I focused on helpful and fun picnic goodies and ideas to choose from that will turn any boring picnic into a laid-back but well-thought-out showstopper without going overboard on spending.

First time buying picnic gear? There is no need to buy everything at once, you can start with something as simple as a picnic basket, a cooler box or a good quality blanket or maybe a portable grill, then add to your picnic collection over time. Think convenience, what will make a lovely eat-out in nature more relaxed and fun for you.

It helps to have a dedicated space for your picnic equipment, in a cupboard, or perhaps a dedicated container stored in the garage or attic. Easy access to all your picnic gear is a great plus. It means a picnic is instantly possible without much hassle or having to search all over for the things you need and also, to ensure you don't forget anything important. Within a few short minutes, you can haul it all out, and you are ready to prep and pack your favorite snacks and drinks, and off you go! We store our picnic gear in a dustproof container, right next to the camping and beach gear containers, this way everything is always ready to go within a moment's notice.

Oh, and before I forget, picnic items make great gifts for friends and family all year round, especially for that person that has everything!

The most versatile, compact, easy to carry picnic grills on the planet, did I mention EASY to carry. You will struggle to find a better collection to pick from on one page! Grills so compact and unique, they fit in the smallest spaces, and you can set them up right next to your picnic blanket for those delectable grilled cheese sandwiches and kebabs we all, so love.


Picnic Baskets

I will never call them the most versatile, but there is something so nostalgic about walking with and sitting down with a lovely picnic basket, and unpacking a tad of cuteness mixed with delectable food, drinks and pretty napkins. My gorgeous wicker picnic basket with matching backpack will forever be one of my most favorite wedding gifts received. Here are a very cool selection of picnic baskets for 2,4,6 or more persons, picnic tote bags, picnic backpacks, picnic coolers and picnic basket coolers for warmer days as well as beautiful insulated carriers for fall and winter picnic outings, to help keep some items warm. If you are on the more practical side and in need of more space, then a cooler box on wheels might be a better choice for you, it is different for us all! Essentials For Picnic

I like checklists in general, it helps me to remember the essentials. A picnic is no different, so I have a picnic checklist printable for the basic picnic must have items with some cool picnic food ideas. I also have a checklist for a stylish picnic with more gourmet picnic ideas and foods, and a few more luxury picnic items for dates and birthdays. I've left some spaces to add items, and I usually just randomly pick a few of the food ideas on the lists or add my own. You are welcome to use these for your picnic, just click the link above to download. I've placed mine inside a plastic sleeve and stuck it inside the lid of my picnic container as mentioned in the beginning. So I always have everything ready. Over time, I've collected some salad, sandwich/wrap filling ideas, and treat recipes that we love, that are both quick and easy and made with items I usually have in stock at home, so I just popped those inside the sleeves behind my checklists.
